Job Description

Meet FindFind is a social enterprise with two goals: providing essential furnishings free of charge to individuals and families who are moving out of homelessness through Housing First, and supplying low-cost, quality furniture and housewares for sale to the public.Find is looking for a passionate and goal-oriented Retail Supervisor to join our retail store team. This position works out of Find Edmonton at 5120 122 street in Edmonton, Alberta.About YouAt your core, you should be passionate about helping people. We work with a diverse group of people to help our most vulnerable friends transition out of homelessness and into their new home through the Housing First program and human connection is a must. You are excited to work in a high energy environment, you are organized and detail oriented and you love not just achieving goals but crushing them!What You’ll DoThis role is responsible for oversee all retail staff and operations including cash transactions, merchandising, and sales. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Providing guidance and supervision to the retail team
  • Ensuring that the retail store floor space is neat, clean, and presentable to the public
  • Delegating jobs and duties to meet the needs of the store
  • Scheduling employees
  • Coordinating visual displays and presentation of projects
  • Have open communication with the Operations Manager around goals and initiatives
  • Maintain a safe, visually pleasing, and easy to access floor space
  • Providing guidance and supervision to the retail team
  • Ensuring that the retail store floor space is neat, clean, and presentable to the public
  • Instructing their team to achieve the daily goals
  • Delegating jobs and duties to meet the needs of the store
  • Making sure that the retail staff are on task and are doing what is expected
  • Provide mentorship to the retail staff keeping the Operations Manager informed of any re-occurring or upcoming issues
  • Other duties as required.
Must Haves
  • Minimum of High School or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in modern technologies and web-based programs and apps
  • Open and transparent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Availability Monday-Sunday with flexibility to work 37.5 to 44 hours as required
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in steel toe shoes/boots
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Clear criminal record check
Nice To Haves
  • Experience and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the state of homelessness in Edmonton and across the country is an asset.
  • Experience working with managing a large team
  • Experience with scheduling
  • Experience with merchandising product
