Job Description

RURAL ROUTES PROGRAM LEADFACULTY OF SKILLS AND FOUNDATIONAL LEARNINGNorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can lead from where they are in finding ways forward in our Rural Routes program which provides professional development to instructors, tutors and other staff in the Community Adult Learning Programs (CALPs) across Alberta.Reporting to the Academic Program Manager, in the Faculty of Skills and Foundational Learning, the Rural Routes Program Lead manages a team of teachers, regional advisors, and a program administrator. This team provides workshops and mentorships in online and face to face formats to Community Adult Learning Program (CALPs) Practitioners across the province. This involves travel around the province as well as working with external partners and stakeholders within the Community Learning Network (CLN) and Advanced Education. The Coordinator identifies service needs across the province, leads workshop development, promotes and leads needs assessment projects, oversees contracts, budgets, and reporting while also acting as a regional advisor themselves.HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Work with program administrators to support registrations, scheduling, materials and supplies, website, and calendar updates.
  • Share Rural Routes initiatives and provincial needs at Rural Alberta Team Meetings.
  • Share Rural Routes initiatives, gather needs, and provide training as required at Regional Task Force Meetings.
  • Draft and support grant applications and final reporting.
  • Monitor expenditures, staffing, and deliverables during each funding cycle.
  • Support team through onboarding, training, development, and performance management.
  • Communicate with CALPs through the Community Learning Network (CLN) when needs assessment is available.
  • Guide the selection of groups of CALPs which will participate in the needs assessment each year.
  • Act as advisor for parts of CLN regions, likely involving the West, East, and North regions.
  • Provide workshops, online webinars, and mentorships.
  • Encourage and promote use of Rural Routes services, participating in regional meetings, Conversation Cafes, Symposium, etc. and distributing materials and promotional literature as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s, Applied or Associate Degree, preferably in an education or cultural-related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an educational, community, or professional development related field.
  • Management or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Experience in a post-secondary environment is an asset.
  • Teaching experience is an asset.

SALARY: $75,044 - $93,777 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience.
