Job Description

The Fath Group is currently seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our safety team. This is a seasonal full-time position based at our head office, located in the West end of Edmonton. Reporting to the Safety Lead. The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Create and advise on improvements in tracking and reporting procedures for safety data
  • Perform analysis of accident and injury data and identify trends and safety management program needs
  • Monitor compliance with the company safety program by employees and subcontractors
  • Design and write safety standards that conform to industry standards, federal, provincial and local regulations, as well as customers contractor qualification programs
  • Perform job site safety compliance inspections, including hazards analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
  • Conduct training programs/seminars for supervisors and field employees, with respect to occupational safety issues and to meet local, provincial, and federal OHS requirements, as well as Environmental and NSC requirements
  • Perform additional assignments per managements direction.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • NCSO designation is required
  • Working towards certification, or already certified, in the Occupational Health & Safety profession is an asset
  • 3-5 years experience in Occupational Health and Safety in a related field preferred
  • Some experience with Road construction industry will be preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
  • Familiar with inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities
  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills (verbal, written and visual presentation)
  • Proficient with presentation, database and office software
  • Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites
  • Fit to work on sites with extended hours
