Job Description

If you want to contribute to KAGs excellent tradition of innovation and leadership in the logistics and transportation industry, we invite you to apply!Reporting to the Customer and Site Onboarding Manager, the Safety Manager of Field Support facilitates full cycle in house claims administration of all preventable and non-preventable incidents resulting in cost or exposure to the company.The POSITION and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet with employees and witnesses to gather pertinent information regarding incidents
  • Process ll internal and external safety claims resulting from incidents
  • Inspect damage to properties, automobiles, etc. when practical.
  • Examine, photographs, video surveillance, audio clips, statements, and all other documentation, related to the claim
  • Consult police, auto shops, construction workers, etc. during investigation to assist in claim validation
  • Evaluate extent of damage and comparable compensation requirements
  • Research and verify insurance policy coverage
  • Document all findings in concise claims report
  • Present documentation in support claims as required to insurance companies timely.
  • Negotiate with claimant and as required insurance brokers to settle claims and ensure proper releases are executed timely
  • Assist our legal advisors in claimant defense if claim is contested
  • File management for all safety incidents to be kept current in TMW and on X-drive
  • Review daily all internal and external incidents for completeness
  • Preform accounts payable activity with respect to approved claims
  • Preform accounting activity to track cost, reserves and trending
  • Track and manage all open claims for full and timely closure
  • Liaise with our contracted insurance adjusters and appraisers
  • Create process documentation for claims management
  • Help field safety determine preventability and corrective actions
  • Help manage 3rd party LMS and keep updated
The INDIVIDUAL and QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years working in a similar capacity where skills/knowledge gained from these roles would be considered as transferable.
  • Direct working knowledge of safety, operations, contracts management, and a general broad understanding of transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and is self-motivated, yet driven by the big picture and has a team mentality
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Willingness to participate in claim management insurance training if required
  • Background in industrial safety culture is considered an asset
