The Role Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for sales and customer engagement We are seeking a Sales Manager to join our team and drive excellence in customer relations, sales strategies, and team development. Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the profitability and efficiency of our sales department while fostering a welcoming environment for our customers.What you will be doing1. Customer Engagement and Floor Management
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by ensuring they are greeted promptly and offered assistance as needed.
  • Prioritize floor management to optimize customer flow and enhance their shopping experience.
2. Customer Relations
  • Proactively address customer relations issues to ensure prompt resolution and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Oversee the completion and documentation of Customer Experience Calls (CECs) to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Sales Consultants on the floor, providing support and guidance as necessary to facilitate the sales process.
  • Take ownership of short ship situations, working diligently to resolve discrepancies and inform affected customers promptly.
3. Sales Department Profitability
  • Coordinate with the catalog team to display promotional tags promptly in alignment with release schedules.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Sales Consultants to optimize deal-making strategies and pricing.
  • Implement proactive measures to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
4. Staffing, Training, and Development
  • Supervise, mentor, and inspire the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with each member of the sales team, documenting and reviewing outcomes with senior leadership.
  • Stay current with industry trends and product knowledge by attending workshops and classes.
  • Implement a structured training program for Sales Consultants on essential topics such as product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Liaise with the payroll department to communicate all pertinent pay-related information for direct reports.
5. Floor Whip Responsibilities
  • Assign individuals to the role of Floor Whip in two-hour blocks each day to maintain a proactive presence on the sales floor.
  • Ensure prompt greetings and assistance to customers during their designated Floor Whip blocks.
To be successful in this role you must have
  • Previous sales management experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in relevant software applications.
