Job Description

Job DescriptionWHAT #39;S THE JOBThe Sandwich Maker is an integral member of the culinary team. Working night shifts, the Sandwich Maker prepares a wide variety of sandwich and specialty items to fulfill the bagged lunch program. The Sandwich Maker will work with culinary leads to present attractive and well-prepared products each day.The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a Nunavut camp setting with the following amenities:

  • All meals and accommodations are provided
  • Travel is provided to and from the site locations from a designated hub location in Edmonton, AB
  • Private room with cable television
  • Access to Wi-Fi
  • Access to laundry facilities and detergents
  • Access to a gym and common areas
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a safe working environment at all times
  • Providing excellent and consistent service for all guests using the KDR facilities
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
  • Preparing all hot and cold items required for the daily bagged lunch program. Items include, but are not limited to:
    • Deli and specialty sandwiches as per daily production requirements
    • All preparations required for each day’s production (compounds such as egg salad or cooked items used for specialty sandwiches)
    • Other required menu items as directed
  • Ensuring that food safety requirements are being followed
  • Completing all HACCP and Production logs as required
  • Labelling and dating of all products prepared for service as required
  • Removing all used pots, pans, utensils, etc., to ware washing area
  • Performing end-of-shift cleaning, sweeping, and mopping of workstation
  • Completing all weekly and monthly cleaning tasks as scheduled
  • Removing garbage from workstation as required
  • Receiving and storing all supplies (food, beverage, chemical and paper/disposable)
  • Assisting with any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
