Job Description

Willowglen Systems has a global customer base and is chiefly involved in the metro-rail, oil and gas, pipelines, electricity distribution, and water distribution sectors – in locations including North America, South America, Asia, and the Middle East.At Willowglen Systems, we pride ourselves on our innovative solutions and the meaningful impact we have on mission-critical industries.About the RoleWillowglen Systems is looking for Scrum Master to join our talented team. The Software Development department at Willowglen is responsible for the design, implementation, verification, maintenance, and documentation of integrated enterprise SCADA software solutions for Willowglen Systems clients across the globe. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on new product development initiatives involving the Agile framework, Machine Learning, big data/analytics and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT).Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the scrum events are hosted and fulfill their purpose according to the Scrum Guide and Willowglen adoption.
  • Accountable for hosting Scrum ceremonies Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement session.
  • Remove obstacles that may prevent team success and took action to resolve and prevent dependencies and blockers during the sprints to ensure the releases in time.
  • Developed Scrum Master role and coached the team on how to host the Scrum Events within the development team.
  • Create, maintain, and update Jira Dashboards from the sprint and scrum team metrics for transparency and strategy purposes for managers and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team is working at its best capacity per sprint.
  • Work with the PO and Development team to ensure the product goals and project needs are planned and executed within the Scrum framework and Agile mindset.
  • Work with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is updated and broken down into stories that are oriented to functionalities and simple enough to keep the velocity of the team.
  • Participate in the Release Planning sessions with the product management team to ensure the Development Team is aligned with the business objectives.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and transparency between the team and scrum teams during the execution and delivery of releases.
  • Ensure continuous improvement towards the agile maturity model implemented for Willowglen.
  • Support the team on how to get self-organized using Agile/Scrum practices and values to excel in our product increments and deliveries of customer value.
Required Qualifications
  • BSc (minimum) in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable area of studies – or equivalent.
  • 5+ years or equivalent of software development work experience.
    • 3+ years of experience as SCRUM Master
  • Scrum Master Certification Required. Other certifications in Agile frameworks are a plus.
  • Full SDLC experience, hands on programming experience in any language
  • Previous experience in traditional SDLC methodologies.
  • Leadership / presentation skills – working with the customer, development, and implementation teams.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Must have proven multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have excellent analytical and computational skills.
Considered Nice to Have the Following
  • An understanding of unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Previous OOP development experience (C++ and JavaScript).
  • Familiarity of software development technologies such as
    • React, Angular, jQuery, NodeJS
    • EMQX / MQTT
    • Redis / Redis Streams
    • Kubernetes, Docker
    • MongoDB, PostgreDB, MySQL
    • RedHat, CentOS
    • Azure, Hadoop
    • Elasticsearch
  • Familiarity with machine learning software and tools (e.g., Tensorflow)
  • Familiarity with customer UX design
