We service both diesel and natural gas engines to support the mining, oilfield, construction, and agricultural sectors of Western Canada. Website: www.trac-engine.comInstagram: @trac_engineThe JobThis role will work alongside two other technicians in our cylinder head department, where we dismantle, machine, and re-assemble cylinder heads. Our cylinder head department houses a number of CNC and manual machines for cutting valve seats, grinding valves, and resurfacing cylinder heads. The ideal candidate will have experience on some or all machines in the department, as well as prior experience rebuilding cylinder heads.Benefits:

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift – 8am – 4:30pm
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person @ 11235 154 St NW EdmontonCompensation:$28-$40/hrWage negotiable based on experienceRequirementsJob requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience working in a machine shop or similar environment
  • Able to operate, and maintain a variety of machining tools including manual lathe, mill, drills, saws, and boring mills in a safe manner
  • Able to safely operate overhead crane and rigging/hoisting devices
  • Must be able to work within close tolerances
  • Able to measure and inspect parts to shop standards
  • Experience with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, dial gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Able to perform machine maintenance
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Read and interpret drawings, charts, and tables
  • Self-motivated while working in a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be able to maintain a clean working environment
  • Working knowledge and experience of metals (Stainless Steel, Carbon, and Exotic Metals), identification, mechanical properties, and machinability (preferred)
  • CNC experience
  • Experience in CAD/ CAM software
  • Forklift experience
  • First aid training
  • Welding tickets and/or experience welding
