We are dedicated to nurturing our employees’ growth and development, and providing a supportive environment with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development that ensures a rewarding career within our organization.The OpportunityThe Senior Survey Technologist will focus on day-to-day external coordination activities supporting the work of the Project Manager/Land Surveyor, including close coordination with project teams. The position is in Edmonton and will be coordinating projects for both Edmonton and Calgary Offices.Dutiesamp; Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the Project Manager on Client interactions and engage directly with the Client’s representative on day-to-day project matters.
  • Take the lead role in day-to-day coordination with other consultants, third-party agencies, and staff, communicating coordination outcomes clearly to the rest of the project team.
  • Attend meetings with Clients, Contractors and staff and make notes and records of the outcomes of these meetings for project record purposes.
  • Meet project milestones in accordance with project deadlines.
  • Track project progress and work with Project Manager to obtain authorizations/approvals for changes in schedule/scope.
  • Assist the Project Manager with 3-month forecasting of work projections, invoice preparation, and budget tracking.
  • Provide office support, plan checking and coordinate completion of drawings for various types of surveys that may include topographic plans, construction layout sketches, and as-built plans.
  • Preparing field files, including review of mechanical, structural, architectural, etc. drawings to prepare coordinate for layout.
  • Provide assistance in the field with survey crews during peak periods.
  • Field data processing and survey computations such as legal boundary calculations, network adjustments, and GNSS data processing etc.
  • Ensure collected data is accurate and standard survey procedures have been followed.
  • Participate in Business Development and networking events.
  • Any other duties, as assigned not listed above but are within the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Skillsamp; Qualifications
  • 2-year diploma in either Geomatics Engineering Technology or Surveying and Geospatial Engineering Technology or equivalent program.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction project coordination.
  • Ability to multitask with competing priorities including tasks and people.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of dependability, technical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D, and Microsurvey.
  • Familiarity with Trimble Survey Equipment and Trimble Business Center is an asset.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • A formal course in Project Management as part of a Certificate or Diploma in Project Management curriculum (confirm locally available and eligible options with your Branch Manager).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Compensation The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.Benefitsamp; Rewards
