You will be leading key technical decisions on the systems that ingest content data and make them available to various clients, including audience facing applications. We will bring out the explorer, challenger and trail blazer in you, but we are also grounded in sustainable, extensible and holistic approaches.Solution / domain architects are accountable for technical decisions and architectural directions that span across multiple products. You will be asked to speak for, advocate and demonstrate value for architectural best practices, standards, frameworks and principles. You are expected to be the subject matter expert of an architectural domain and will be consulted to establish common technology visions for the digital department. Effectively working across development teams, business stakeholders, leading and facilitating collaborative analysis, solutioning, review and technical decisions.- Providing consultation, assessment and optimization on architectural design that considers: functional integrity, scalability, resilience, stability, security and operational excellence. Able to balance business needs, strategies with long term growth and health of the digital ecosystem.- Define and help implement architectural standards and patterns for common concerns to do with content data. Building foundational frameworks and technologies, and driving its adoption. Ensure designs adhere to regulatory, governance and certification requirements defined by the industry and governing bodies.- Participating in the discovery and ideation phase of large initiatives. For instance assisting in build or buy decisions, and providing technology and architectural recommendations.- Evolve the content data ingestion and distribution ecosystem. Manage integration architecture related artifacts, for instance, integration architecture / design, guidelines, integration patterns, messaging platforms and associated documentation.- Oversees quality, design and implementation details with the development team. Find opportunities in improving the build, deploy and CI/CD in the delivery process.- Help establish the department #39;s integration patterns and architecture for content data. Develop methodology to manage dependencies and operational excellence for data access.What you bring to our team:- Three or more years of experience in a lead software developer, technical leadership or architectect role. Worked in roles that involve collaborating with development teams, technical leaders and stakeholders.- Experienced in data management, e.g. ingestion, integration, governance, modeling, storage. Expertise in microservice architecture, data query technologies (GraphQL) and enterprise integration patterns.- Hands-on experience in enterprise, highly available messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka) including infrastructure components like CDN and caching. Exposure to distributed architecture and systems design.- Knowledge of data modeling and data management principles (e.g. ACID). Familiarity in databases (PostgreSQL), and data architecture.- Demonstrated experience in system modernization, helping define technical decisions and target state architecture that affect multiple systems and complex data flows. Ability to demonstrate methodical and holistic approach through leading discoveries, analysis (e.g. fit gap) and maturity plan.- Have been keeping coding and hands on skills up to date. Able to read and write scripted and compiled languages (Java, Postscript). Knowledge of application setup (Spring MVC, Spring boot), deployment and runtime.- Well versed in architectural principles and key concepts. Practical experience in driving department strategies through architecture and innovations. A forward thinking technologist who maintains close awareness of emerging technologies and their potential application for the products.- Possess a degree (BA, BSc) or diploma in a Software Development, Science or Engineering related discipline, delivered by a recognized learning institution.Assets:- Experience in enterprise digital content publishing solutions.- Experience in strategic planning, technology roadmaps and costing.- A problem solver and good communicator who takes ownership of the work they do, see problems as opportunities, and share new ideas.
