If you are someone who approaches work with passion, curiosity and the courage to innovate, then this role is for you.DESCRIPTION:Reporting to the Supervisor, Sourcing & Legal in Supply Chain, the Sourcing Specialist is responsible to act as a centralized corporate procurement function for the organization and support the Business Units through the development of enterprise sourcing strategies for goods and services. The Sourcing Specialist applies strategic sourcing and category management principles, tools, and techniques to align corporate goals, business plans, and internal customer objectives, leveraging ATCOs spend and global footprint to procure best value for the organization.WHAT YOU GET TO DO:Corporate Procurement & Contracting

  • Single point of contact for departments with enterprise-wide scope, intake of their procurement requests, sourcing vendors, contract development & creation, and purchase order management.
  • Receives all procurement requests from Corporate or ATCO common group customers.
  • Facilitates engagement with cross functional stakeholders as to their respective requirements to ensure those requirements are included in the overall contracting strategies.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of category strategies for all spend categories within their accountability
  • Conducts competitive bidding (RFI, RFQ, RFP), vendor negotiations, contracts and purchase order creation and management.
  • Answers internal customer inquiries for sources of supply, lead times, pricing, and vendor performance.
Enterprise Strategic Sourcing Support
  • At the request of Business Unit operations or procurement teams, and as required for corporate procurement, works collaboratively with the Business Units from sourcing strategy development, to facilitating cross-functional teams through to contract award. Supports larger Business Unit strategies.
  • Leads cross Business Unit initiatives, leveraging opportunities by seeking input from cross functional stakeholders as to their respective requirements, ensuring those requirements are included in the overall sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Tracks and analyzes major spend categories and develop / document sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Develops and maintains category spend profiles / intelligence, internal and external stakeholder registers, and vendor risk assessments.
  • Creates a strategic sourcing matrix that differentiates categories of goods or services to prioritize effort and opportunities.
  • Identifies same/similar materials/goods commodities and performs market research required for developing sourcing strategies.
  • Selects and evaluates prospective vendors to determine qualifications and suitability.
  • Acts as a resource to the organization for Supply Chain best practices, benchmarking, reporting, vendor and spend analysis.
Vendor Management
  • While predominantly a “pre-award” sourcing role, Sourcing Specialists are required to support Business Unit contract administration or management functions to leverage agreements for effective vendor management and development.
  • Develops new vendors (suppliers and contractors) as ATCO enters into new product lines, markets and services.
  • Segments preferred vendors to develop strategic partnerships.
  • Identifies improvements and innovations with vendors that will advance ATCO’s business initiatives.
  • Develops appropriate performance scorecards.
  • Conducts regular vendor reviews to drive strategic cost management initiatives, in collaboration with internal customers and Operational Procurement.
  • Leads vendor development / relationships to ensure best in class pricing and price structures, continuity of material, and alignment with internal customer and company goals and strategies.
  • Reports findings related to vendor performance and works with them to improve performance.
  • Resolves conflicts between vendor offerings and the needs of the internal customer
WHO YOU ARE:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Commerce, or equivalent required
  • SCMP preferred
  • 7+ years working in Supply Chain operations
  • 3+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing/category management
  • Experience in the following categories and/or industries; Corporate, IT, and/or Engineering is preferred
  • Experience with energy or manufacturing related Industries is preferred
  • Knowledgeable with S2P processes and activities.
  • Effective listening and communications skills.
  • Project Management experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with key Supply Chain core processes and overall knowledge of Supply Chain business practices for meeting services delivery.
  • Familiar with document management methods and tools.
  • Experience in definition and support of Service Level Agreements, Key Performance Indicators, measurement and reporting, and governance implementation for global Supply Chain organization.
  • Experience in providing leadership and coaching for as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Experience in using Supply Chain software, especially Oracle systems.
  • Experience in sourcing/procuring IT and/or corporate services is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of materials and services sourcing and procurement concepts and process (e.g., seven step sourcing, bid analysis).
  • Strong understanding of the competitive bidding process, contract development skills, language and applications of terms and conditions.
  • Proven negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and data analysis.
  • High level of integrity, principled in business dealings and relationships.
  • Ability to help lead change in the organization towards the efficient and effective delivery of Supply Chain services and functions.
  • Ability to excel in a high-paced working environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
