Job Description

Thompson Construction Group is looking for Steam Bay / Steam Truck Operators to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. Successful candidates are working to support Heavy Duty Technicians in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and will be responsible for the daily cleaning of various types of heavy equipment and pickup trucks. All positions require consistent cooperation with the company’s safety policies and procedures.Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all safety standards
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Cleaning of heavy and light duty equipment
  • Help out in all tasks including general yard clean up, assisting mechanics and steamers and other day to day tasks as directed by the maintenance supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Valid class 5 license with “Q” (air brakes) endorsement
  • Must be able to operate a standard shift vehicle.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with mobile steam unit experience.
  • Must be a self-starter, experience operating forklift, bobcat and loader would be an asset.
  • CSO or BSO Certification
  • CSTS Certification and OSSA Regional only required if candidate does not have the above certification
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
  • Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Will be subject to Random Drug & Alcohol Testing
