Often, they use their term to enhance their technical skillsets and build out their professional network.AIMCo’s Planning and Architecture team is seeking a Summer Student to complement its existing team, and to assist in the day to day work of the department. The student will assist in planning and architecture services to support the organization in achieving its mandates, goals, and business objectives, and will maximize the potential of available information technology applications and systems.Responsibilities

  • Administrative support capturing business needs
  • Prioritizing business initiatives
  • Gathering information related to systems in use by AIMCo
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Completion of second- or third-year undergraduate studies in Information Management, Computer Science / Engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
  • Basic programming skills, preferably Python / R
  • Strong organization and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
Success Measures
  • Basic understanding of IT function to help the student understand what areas of IT they might be interested in and what their first career step can look like.
  • Good understanding of technology strategy and planning, enterprise architecture, and solution architecture functions including capabilities, processes, frameworks, tools, etc.,
  • Hands on experience managing and administrating the planning and architecture book of work using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Hands on experience building knowledge repository for various architecture artifacts
  • Support technology governance processes and coordinate effort across various stakeholders.
  • Learn how to use analytics tools such Power BI to support BT Investment and Operational performance reporting
  • Basic understanding to the foundation of investment management and the financial industry.
  • Knowledge of the systems currently used at AIMCo including SimCorp Dimension, Eagle Pace, Calypso, Charles River and TIBCO.
