SummaryReporting directly to the Terminal Manager, the Supervisor Maintenance main responsibility is overseeing the day to day maintenance of the facility and project execution. The Supervisor Maintenance provides effective leadership, mentoring and training to maintenance staff and contractors, troubleshoots and supports Gibson Energy’s commitment to operations excellence.Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)
  • Aligns with the Company values (people, safety, integrity, executional focus), responsible for developing and mentoring team members, and providing guidance and direction for the overall group, including:
    • Manages performance of individuals to achieve results.
    • Builds a collaborative, innovative team to exceed customer expectations (internal and external).
    • Communicates the Company’s vision and strategy in relatable terms.
    • Creates an environment of engagement for team members to produce high quality services.
  • Is responsible for supervising predictive and preventative Electrical, Instrumentation, Measurement and Mechanical maintenance and repairs to T&P, piping and rotating equipment to achieve a safe, efficient and environmentally sound operating center.
  • Participates in determining the scope of monitoring and measurement activities and for ensuring that monitoring and measurement procedures are in place.
  • Utilizes Maximo computerized Maintenance Management system to achieve safe, efficient Terminal / Pipeline operation.
  • Executes a predictive and preventative Maintenance program for rotating and mobile equipment.
  • Assists with selection of new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
  • Reviews all site requirements for Regulatory Compliance and Integrity activities.
  • Reviews and approves all Mechanical, Electrical, Measurement and Instrumentation maintenance procedures.
  • Is responsible for maintenance employee development and training.
  • Budgetary planning for planned maintenance activities with forecasts for upcoming year.
  • Participates in setting EH&S Objectives and targets for Maintenance Functional groups.
  • Reviews all work to ensure prevention of pollution and environment impacts.
  • Participates in Site Management Reviews.
  • Provides vacation relief Terminal and Pipeline Manager, if required.
  • Ensures work is completed using the work order process and the scheduling process.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications – Related Education, Experience & Skills
  • Certified Journeyman Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of operations or maintenance experience in support of crude oil processing (upstream and downstream) or terminal and pipeline facilities.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Align and be fully competent with the functional competencies outlined in the job profile assigned via the Competency Management and Development System (CMDS).
  • Works collaboratively and effectively with functional areas and other operating areas.
  • Has strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of PC’s and MS Word and Excel.
  • Possesses a self-motivated, team player attitude with a drive for success.
  • Possesses good written and oral presentation skills and ability to communicate well with employees and customers.
Working Conditions
  • Field based position with minimal travel to other operating sites or Calgary head office.
  • Must be available to support outside normal work hours and on-call emergency response.
  • Work involves hands-on support of active operations and maintenance in an outdoor environment (as applicable).
