PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, resources and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively. The Supply Chain Manager will partner with the Executive Team and Regional Managers in the strategic planning of our vendor relationships, develop expectations for each vendor and product line, coordinating and directing of day-to-day purchasing requirements of each of the six distribution branches as well as two manufacturing sites. The Supply Chain Manager will lead coordination activities with procurement, inventory control and logistics to optimize the supply chain and liaise between the distribution and manufacturing teams to resolve bottleneck inefficiencies in the procurement processes and procedures to ensure adequate inventory levels.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Fundamental job duties):
  • Continual support and promotion of Formations’ Core Focus of “Building a business that provides exceptional customer service and inspires design.”

  • Oversee all purchasing activities, including inventory management, receiving, reconciliations and monitor the flow of those activities to ensure they run effectively.
  • Establish strategic purchasing processes and procedures that support the organization and regional objectives.
  • Develop and implement policies that coincide with the established process and procedures.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics for the department.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors including sourcing new products, pricing negotiations, annual vendor reviews and claims management.
  • Manage MRP review processes and ensure replacement costs are being updated on a timely a pro-active manner.
  • Evaluate and analyze purchase trends and price trends to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs.
  • Manage and communicate inbound shipping schedules and effectively communicate delays to sales teams.
  • Manage duties, customs, harmonized tariff classifications, import costs, and compliance with government regulations.
  • Develop vendor relationship strategies to support the organizations strategic objections and regional strategic objectives.
  • Liaise with distribution and manufacturing teams to remove bottlenecks and improve efficiencies through continuous improvement.
  • Work with Regional Managers and Functional Managers to develop capital asset replacement, maintenance, and capital asset needs assessment.
  • Oversee industry compliance requirements and audits including but not limited to FSC and CBSA.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (Incidental duties):
  • Support sales and design teams with product technical information.
  • Support sales and design teams with presentations of new products.

  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or Commerce, preferred
  • Minimum 4 years in a B2B environment is required·
  • Inventory and vendor management experience preferred in a similar industry
  • Leading a team of subordinates in the day-to-day performance of their jobs an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills are required for analyzing data and forecasting trends.
  • Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve and add value to the organization.
  • Previous knowledge of FSC Certification and CBSA compliance requirements is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
