GeoVerra will be hosting weekly interviews in June 2021 to fill five (5) Survey Assistant roles in Edmonton, AB flying in and out of Kitimat, BC. This opportunity is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain construction survey experience on a busy construction site and are interested in a career in surveying.We will be extending invitations to qualified applicants to attend interviews with our British Columbia Field Crew Coordinator and hiring team. We have organized an accelerated hiring process to ensure mobilization and training to site is effortless for candidates. Our goal is to have these positions filled by July 2021 with passionate individuals who are looking to kick start their surveying career.Apply through our website for your application to be considered for our weekly interviews being held for these roles.Key Position Details:Full time, benefits, RRSP match, wellness days, and paid vacation time2 weeks on and 1 week off rotation10-hour daily shiftsTravel to and from the Kitimat site and accommodations includedPaid training for all safety tickets requiredKey Responsibilities:Support a positive and professional team atmosphere and acts as a positive ambassador for the company in all situations where there is contact with the public, our clients or potential clients and project contractors.Assist with various tasks including but not limited to organization and housekeeping of tools, equipment and materials at project sites, office and in crew vehicles.Assist the Crew Chief in achieving project timelines and deliverables.Arrive at work on time and prepared for the task and shift assigned by the Field Crew Coordinator.Participate proactively in completing required internal and external safety training and practicing competent operation of all types of survey related equipment and vehicles required for the task at hand.Adhere to the safety requirements of the client, OH&S and the GeoVerra Safety program on all projects.Participate in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessment, Job Safety Analysis development, daily tailgate meetings and complies with all safety activities identified.Required Skills, Experience, and Behaviours:Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline considered an asset but not required.Previous experience in Surveying or other related types of work involving the outdoors.Ability to take direction and communicate effectively.An understanding of survey methodologies is considered an asset.Ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organization; is a great team member.Ability to work without supervision, effective time management and strong organizational skills.Ability and willingness to travel for the client, project, and GeoVerra requirements and to respond to situations that occur outside traditional working hours.Adaptable and able to think outside the box.A valid driver’s license and can provide a clean driver’s abstract;Pre Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing; andAll employment offers for Safety Sensitive positions are conditional upon the successful completion of a Negative Drug Screen and Passing Alcohol Screen.Working Conditions:Out of town work and frequent travel required;Ability to carry, lift and push 50lbs+ on a regular basis;Ability to work outside in all weather conditions;GeoVerra has every intention of fostering diversity within and across our organization.
