Job Description

As a Tax Manager, you will work directly with clients and staff to deliver tax and consulting services. The ideal candidate will be a Senior Tax Accountant/Tax Manager with a minimum of three years experience in specialized tax. Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estateamp; trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and corporate reorganizations. Qualifications

  • CPA (CA/CGA/CMA) designation required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in public accounting being at least three years experience in specialized tax.
  • Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Program or is currently enrolled in the program
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior tax professionals
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Proficiency in Caseware, TaxPrep, CCH IntelliConnect and Microsoft Office is an asset
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and Review complex corporate tax returns
  • Prepare and review complex personal tax returns, terminal returns, estate returns and trust returns, along with various information forms
  • Research and interpret tax issues for internal staff and external clients
  • Prepare tax memorandums, client letters and develop opinions on various tax issues;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax and estate planning strategies and corporate reorganizations;
  • Liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
  • Dedication to professional development in new tax legislation and case law
  • Train, coach and supervise junior tax professionals
