Job Description

AdaptAbilities is registered charity that provides an essential service to individuals with special needs and their families. This is an opportunity to make a difference, supporting individuals to be a part of their community.PurposeAs AdaptAbilities’ new Team Lead (TL), you will provide leadership and support to staff and participants for assigned programs. You will ensure program planning and implementation focuses on participant goals, meeting outcomes, and incorporating the three components for children and five assets for adults. As a conscientious Team Lead you will act with integrity, be open to growth, live our purpose, cultivate teamwork, and put forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with special needs and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.Key Functions

  • Informs, supports, trains, mentors, leads and oversees direct care from staff
  • Understands and clearly communicates organizational policies and processes to both staff and families
  • Plans programming, ensuring meaningful days and purposeful support
  • Identifies and solves problems, building staff capacity in difficult situations
  • Develops and fosters genuine relationships
  • Ensures program outcomes, risk management and quality assurance guidelines are met
  • Conducts general administration, follow-ups, documentation and reporting duties
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in disability studies, or other relevant discipline
  • Two years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Supervised, mentored and coached a team of at least five staff
  • Practical experience and theoretical knowledge regarding complex behaviors, human rights approach and community inclusion
  • Demonstrated proficiency working in the Google platform (Mail and Apps) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Available to perform and complete duties outside regular business hours
  • Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
  • Standard First Aid Level C & AED, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle with clear driving abstract
