  • If a problem occurs in an Application Production environment, they fix or coordinate the fix required to provide services back to the client as soon as possible
  • As application development occurs, appropriate change management processes are followed to ensure correct changes are put in and maintain the integrity of the applications’ data.
Data and Platform Services provides support to hundreds of production applications.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Application Release Management (both automated and manual)
  • Database Administration
  • Incident/Problem Management related to the applications, databases and middleware
  • Technical Support for applications (including On-Call support for Critical and Vital applications)
  • Disaster Recovery Management (ex. DR Exercise, Technical Recovery Plans, etc.)
  • Common Tool support for application development teams
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
  • Coordinate software and hardware integration for projects and identify solutions to integration challenges.
  • Support / assist the enterprise and project teams in resolving hardware / software compatibility dependencies.
  • Maintain proper configuration management processes and standards.
  • Support / assist the enterprise and project teams in defining integration procedures and standards.
  • Daily monitoring of all server software for proper operation;
  • Software assembly and compilation (Build process) including automation and configuration management;
  • Maintaining and reporting on the Build Schedule to development teams, test teams and project management teams;
  • Participation as part of the implementation team;
  • Resolution of configuration and deployment issues.
  • Review hardware and software configuration and confirm as meeting Program (business) and Alberta Education / Innovation and Advanced Education’s Enterprise Architecture requirements.
  • Communicate environment requirements and configurations to the development / integration teams.
  • Obtain enterprise utility information and communicate to the integration team.
  • Ensure the development and integration teams test configurations and interfaces and ensure problems found are reviewed and communicated to the enterprise team.
  • Attend integration services meeting.
  • Regular updates to senior staff regarding progress of assigned units of work, focusing on potential deviations from previously supplied estimates.
  • Assist in the formulation and documentation of the Ministrys Technology Architecture.
  • Technology research as required.
  • Working with Ministry representatives defining and undertaking quality assurance processes related to defined units of work.
  • Provide tracking of and monthly reporting of time expended related to work undertaken.
  • Participate as needed in other assigned tasks, such as documentation and project meetings.
MANDATORY SKILLS- The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following: (4+ years)
  • University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 4-yr IT related experience;
OR
  • 2-yr diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 6-yr IT related experience;
OR
  • a 1-yr certificate in a related discipline and 7-yr IT related experience;
OR
  • a currently active professional certification or accreditation in an IT related discipline and 7-yr IT related experience.
- Experience working as Technical Integration and Deployment Coordinator in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta (6+ years)- Experience working in an IT environment compromised of multiple lines of business (8+ years)- Experience working in a SQL Server 2012 (or newer) environment (6+ years)- Experience working in an N-tier environment using a Load Balancer to distribute the workload (6+ years)- Experience working in a distributed environment (multiple data centres) and basic knowledge of networking (6+ years)- Experience working with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment Technology (5+ years)DESIRABLE / NICE TO HAVE SKILLS- Experience working on enterprise-integrated solutions in an enterprise architecture (4+ years)- Experience using .NET framework (6+ years)- Experience working with Web Services (4+ years)- Experience solving technical problems through intense research (6+ years)- Experience configuring servers and common Microsoft server components (5+ years)- Experience with Automated Workflows for Release Management (1+ years)- Experience with the processes and requirements around a Configuration Management Database (1+ years)- Experience with Disaster Recovery tests and processes (1+ years)- Experience using VB.Net (6+ years)- Experience using COM+, COM, DCOM (3+ years)- Experience with IAE’s LIFe/LIMS enterprise architecture framework (0.5+ years)- Experience with GAEA enterprise architecture framework (0.5+ years)- Experience working with BuildMaster (3+ years)- Experience working with the F5 BigIP Load Balancer (2+ years)WHY WORK WITH TRI-GLOBALThis role allows you to grow your professional work experience and skills in a dynamic environment.
