Job Description

Learn more about NAIT’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion at nait.ca/edi.The PeopleSoft Technical Analyst is a member of the Corporate Systems team reporting directly to the Corporate Systems team lead. The primary focus of this position is the ongoing technical support of NAIT’s Enterprise Resource Planning systems.Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecting, designing, and implementing PeopleSoft environments to be robust, secure, reliable, and highly available.
  • Installing / configuring / maintaining / upgrading various layers of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, Finance and Campus Solutions.
  • Participating in complex problem root cause analysis, finding the problematic/suboptimal code or system configuration in a complex PeopleSoft environment
  • Advising/helping the developers and other Technical Analysts in the team for optimization of the environments & system configuration.
  • Conducting and leading technical activities for major upgrades of Oracle and PeopleSoft based systems
  • Addressing integration and interoperability among various ERP applications
  • Measuring performance of ERP and web applications and providing uniform system security
  • Effectively responding to technical emergencies is essential
Skills & Abilities:
  • Expert knowledge in all aspects of the Oracle PeopleSoft architecture, experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Finance or Campus Solutions release 9.2 and PeopleTools v.8.57+.
  • Expert knowledge and hands on experience with PeopleSoft installation/maintenance (Tuxedo, Java, WebLogic, Cobol, Web services, etc.) and PeopleSoft application/Tools upgrades including PUM upgrade, tax updates, selective adoption of fixes.
  • Experience in debugging/troubleshooting techniques for technical issues related to infrastructure components including application and web server, process scheduler, integration broker, Elasticsearch server, SMTP server and database.
  • Knowledge of oracle optimizer engine & ability to understand complex execution plans to help tune complex SQL’s.
  • Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Cloud-based network and security appliances (load-balancers, web application firewalls)
  • Infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform)
  • Cloud-native application infrastructures (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Log shipping and parsing (Logstash, Elastic, Kibana)
  • Metrics collection and review (Grafana)
  • Code repository technologies and methodologies (git, pull requests, branching)
  • Integration technologies (SSIS, PowerShell, REST web services, ETL structures)
  • Writing and maintaining scripts (PowerShell primarily, Azure CLI, some Python, etc.)
  • Proven track record working with teams on IT projects
Qualifications:
  • Related post-secondary degree/diploma and at least 4 years of experience in PeopleSoft Technical System Administration.
  • Certification in PeopleSoft administration would be an asset.
