Job Description

Spirit Employment is currently seeking out people like you to join our roster of experienced Welders. We have jobs in camps or hotels depending on where job is located. LOA is provided in hotel settings. We are looking for the following skills:

  • Previous experience welding in an industrial setting
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the lay out of work
  • Read and follow directions in given layouts, blueprints and work orders
  • Welds parts and structural steel frames
  • Assist in preparing parts, columns and beams to be welded, which may include cutting, punching, drilling, and bending of material
  • Use and operate the welding equipment to fabricate and customize
  • assist such as grinding, buffing and weld set up, if needed
Physical Requirements:
  • May have to perform tasks at heights
  • Possessing basic safety ticket would be an asset
  • Work will include pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment, or tools.
  • Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Work will include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers.
  • Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8-10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time, sometimes inside confined spaces.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures

Your interpersonal and communication skills need to be top-notch since you will be working mainly in a group environment, you know, teamwork makes the dream work. The ability to work safely and efficiently will make you the real MVP.In a perfect world, you have your Red Seal or working on it paired with a solid background in heavy industry and construction. To knock it out of the park, highlight your knowledge of the pulp and paper industry and previous shutdown/maintenance outage experience.Living out allowance is available for successful out-of-town candidates hired for our shutdown and your hourly rate is $26 more for Journey men and Red Seal.
