Our strategic objective is to assist members of our community overcome challenges that impede their overall progress and success.Job descriptionYouth Development Communications Coordinator positionIn partnership with Canada Summer Jobs, the Council of Canadians of African and Caribbean Heritage (CCACH) is looking for a creative, dynamic, energetic, outgoing individual to hire as a Youth Development Communications Coordinator.The Youth Development Communications Coordinator will assist in runningCCACH’s summer youth programs, community events and implementing our communications strategy. This position is an 8 week contract, July 4 - August26th, 2022.Reporting to the Executive Director, the Youth Development CommunicationsCoordinator will provide overall support for our programs primarily focusing on community social media outreach, event/workshop logistics and planning and general administration duties. The ideal candidate will be a youth (under age 30 as per Canada Summer Jobs) that has graduated from college/university, digitally savvy and is passionate about serving the community. This is a full time position and the successful candidate will be expected to work a maximum 35 hours per week.The rate of pay for this position is $22 per hour.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain an interactive social media presence for CCACH Programs
  • Develop a presence in different online communities, spaces, and forums
  • Represent the organization at different community events to spread awareness of our mission and programs.
  • Work with facilitators to create workshop content and materials
  • Manage event/workshop registration process
  • Actively promote events/workshops on Social Media and other platforms to encourage registration to events/workshops or program
  • Developing/implementing our communications strategy to attract youth
  • Develop and maintain tutoring program records
  • Organize and monitor summer program sessions
Desired Skills and Expertise
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Post-secondary education essential
  • Experience working in Google Workspace and Canva, mailchimp and other digital graphic design apps and software
  • Experience with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram,Twitter and
Tiktok
  • Experience working in education or youth programming an asset
  • Experience updating website content in wordpress or squarespace an asset
  • Experience or/and Education as Project Coordinator an asset
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
  • Detail-oriented taking pride in successfully accomplishing assigned tasks
  • Be responsible, reliable and self-motivated
  • Have a positive, outgoing and friendly attitude
**Candidates must have access to a computer and be able to work from home and/or be able to commute to our office in Downtown Edmonton.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $22.00 per hourBenefits:
