Job Description

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Grocery Supervisor to join our Grocery team on a full-time basis at our location in Elk Point, AB. Reporting to the Grocery Manager.What you’ll do:

  • Full availability to work a variety of shifts: Sun- Sat 8am-9pm (including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis - opening and closing shifts of this position are expected)
  • Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Grocery team in order to ensure a highly productive atmosphere exists
  • Provide feedback on operational processes
  • Actively out on the sales floor working one-on-one with team members and leading by example
  • Follow proper maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • Conduct talent management practices for the Grocery team as assigned
  • Provide training for the Grocery team as assigned
  • Assess team member performance and provide feedback through performance reviews
  • Ensure that deadlines are met for the whole Grocery department
  • Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operatives vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • You have a grade 12 or combination of relevant experience; previous retail and supervisory experience would be an asset

  • You demonstrate effective team leadership skills and have the ability to work well within a multigenerational, highly motivated team.
