Please visit our website https://www.komatsu.com/careers/ for more information.Job OverviewWe are looking for a Welder/Fitter (Metal Fabricator) for our Elliot Lake, Ontario location. This individual will be responsible for making/fitting and repairing parts used in the construction of heavy mining equipment, and ensures quality products are being produced and maintains a safe, clean and productive work environment.Key Job ResponsibilitiesPredominant Tasks Include:
  • Setting up and operating trade machinery such as, plasma cutters, oxy-fuel cutting torches, grinders and drills to bend, punch, cut and form metal components
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and schematics
  • Performing calculations and applying shop formulas and other mathematical methods to develop patterns and lay out structural steel
  • Planning the sequence of tasks and deciding how to cut the steel most efficiently
  • Complies with KMC safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
  • Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Komatsu Mining products.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • College diploma in Welding and Fabrication technician or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years #39; experience in Welding and Fitting trade.
  • Canadian Welding Bureau certification is an asset.
