ABOUT USAs an independent gasoline retailer and supplier, Wilsons Gas Stops operates its own service stations and distributes fuel to dealers in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. Wilsons Gas Stops operates 79 company service stations, 13 Wilsons Gas Stops and 66 Esso stations. The Manager will provide exceptional customer service, while simultaneously managing daily operations. Wilsons wants to hear from you.JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Area Supervisor, the Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the store while simultaneously leading staff to succeed as a team, with a common goal of customer service excellence. Those who demonstrate a sense of pride in the development of their team and pride in the appearance of their workplace can succeed in this role. In addition to the above competencies, individuals with experience in basic retail industry skills such as shift balancing, inventory control, point of sale operations, back office system operation, merchandising etc. will be recognized, although training is available to develop these skills where necessary. Some travel may be necessary and must be transferable.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerform visual checks of store (inside and outside)Provide prompt, personalized and courteous customer serviceCash Handling, use of POS System and Inventory Monitoring/BalancingAbide by all policies, procedures, operational guidelines and government regulationsPrepare ice, drink (coffee, slushies), and food (popcorn, cookies, hot dogs, etc) and clean associated machinery*Conduct fuel tank dips*Execute daily store cleaning maintenance (e.g. mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying garbage, etc)Any task required by management in order to run the business efficientlyRead communication book and resolve any major issues immediatelyConfirm daily sales and paperworkTracks and follows up on sales variancesHires, trains, and retains staffMotivates and coaches staffEXPECTATIONSStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work under pressureExceptional customer service skillsAccountable and DependableAttention to detailAble to work effectively in groups, as well as independentlyExcellent organizational skillsStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeAbility to multitaskWHAT WE OFFERTraining for career advancementBonus**Health Plan**Pension Plan**Paid Vacation**
