The Assistant Manager must be able to troubleshoot issues on customers’ sites and provide cost-effective solutions. The Assistant Manager will be trained in parlor design, new construction and remodels. This position will also be responsible for sanitation and waste management programs.Position ResponsibilitiesDairy Facility Design - new construction & remodelsTroubleshoot problems, provide solutions & service to dairy producersBuild & maintain relationships with dairy producers and supporting suppliersNegotiate pricing and contracts with farmers for the purchase of dairy productsAccurately document parts used and time spent on service calls & projects for billingStay knowledgeable on company products & offerings, dealership promotions and relay information to prospects and customersTravel to customer sites for services, maintenance and repairsTrain customers & employees on general maintenance and operation of equipmentWill be required to work on call on some evenings, weekends and holidaysCommunicate with other department heads to coordinate scheduling of technicians for services & projectsPhysical, Safety & Work EnvironmentAbility to lift, push/pull, move up to and over 50 poundsAdherence to safety & best practicesComfortable working around animalsSkills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Relevant post-secondary education and/or experience in the Dairy Industry preferred.Experience in mechanical, electrical, software systems, and/or robotics would be an asset.Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word & Excel.Technically apt in the use of shop tools and equipment.Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
