Overview:A structured Host/Hostess role is critical to provide guidance to guests in the restaurant or casino. The Host/Hostess will typically spend the most time with guests during their stay at the restaurant.Responsible for greeting the guests, seating them and explaining any specials or other relevant information.Responsibilities:Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for diners Prepare tables or counters for meals.Assigns work tasks and coordinates activities of restaurant personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons Stock the service area with supplies (e.g. coffee, glassware).Assist the servers and server assistants where necessary (i.e.: clearing plates, setting tables)Italia Host/Hostess may be required to work in another food and beverage outlet from time to time as directed by managementTo look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.All other duties as assignedQualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.AGLC – Proserve/Protect preferredMust have previous customer service experience, preferably in a related environment.Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours/day.Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.Enthusiastic and outgoing, positive and upbeatGood organization and multi-tasking skillsPleasant and accommodating, willing to go the extra mileSincere desire to pleaseSense of urgency and work ethicCalm and organized demeanorHigh level of self confidenceBelieves selling is a serviceBelieves work can be funTeam orientedAdmits what they don't know and will ask for helpAppearance standardRemains calm under pressureOrganization and planningHas experience in food handling, cash handling, customer service, and/or serving.The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
