Overview:A structured In Room Server role is critical to serve prepared foods and drinks to Hotel guests.Responsibilities:Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by managementResponsible to wash and clean your hands regularly with soap and waterResponsible to be properly groomed and dressed professionally dailyResponsible to check your work schedule daily and note any changesReports to work on time.Ensure department keys are picked up and complete opening duties in Room ServiceEnsure that the kitchen associates are in and report to LP if not at work immediatelyPickup all necessary reports.Pickup all baked goods from the loading dock and deliver to kitchen for serviceEnsure that all requests are delivered complete and in a timely mannerAttends standup meetings daily and participate in general discussionsUse proper food handling procedures (gloves, tongs, napkins, etc)Use proper dialogue in greeting guests, entering rooms and clearing out roomsMaintain working in a clean and organized environmentProvide ample stock of china, cutlery and glassware for the department to useProperly clean and sanitize equipment used to serve our guests requestsEnsure that Room Service and Main Service Bar work area is clean and sanitizedEnsure that all guest charges are posted correctly and in a timely mannerPrepare to open the Main Service Bar by getting the opening duties completedPrepare to order any food and beverage requirements from storeroomPlace a fresh flower order weekly from the floristPrepare setups for functions ie: cutlery, china, glassware, linen for functionsPrepare to assist other outlets during busy periods of servicePrepare cash outs for each shift and deposit themDeposit any cash or cheques for cash outs into the safe after every shift with witnessPrint revenue reports daily for closing shifts after outlets are closedReport any challenges and complaints from guestsEnsure that the department is secured, and keys are turned in to security after shiftReport to department meetings and trainings as scheduledTo look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.Other duties as requiredQualifications:1-2 years in food and beverage service, banquet service, bar serviceExperience in Micros or another point of sale system an assetHigh School GraduateAlberta Server Intervention ProgramWinequest certified or equivalent requiredProserve License an assetStrong communication skills (verbally, listening and writing)Fluent in English (oral and written), a second language is a definite assetAbility to carry food and beverage trays (approx 5-10 lbs)Basic knowledge in food, liquor, beer, and wineBasic knowledge of other hotel services, city attractions and local servicesMust have understanding in sanitation, hygiene and food handling proceduresGood customer service skills with excellent phone etiquetteHigh standard of personal groomingAbility to recognize our repeat guestsAbility to work in a quick paced environment and be able to deliver services to our guests in a timely mannerMathematic Skills: Basic math may be needed to verify cash receipts.Good customer service skills with excellent phone etiquettePhysical Coordination: The server must have the ability to move food trays.
