Position:This Position is suited for someone with the ability to work independently, while enjoying the support of the parts department, in house tools, a large comfortable shop with some work diversity. The position will focus on Highway truck and trailer repairs and safeties but will include a bit of automotive work with some small various projects customers need completed (pto U joints, small welding jobs, hyd hose building as examples)Reporting to the Business Manager, the position will be responsible for shop tools, shop equipment maintenance and cleanliness, assisting with some various small projects, planning for booked jobs and keeping track of information needed for record and billing purposes.Checking customer equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems then test repaired equipment for proper performance.Safety inspections, communication of status or work required to pass inspection or completing work required for equipment to pass inspection.Requirements:Red seal certification for highway truck and trailer, we would consider an nonticketed mechanic with 5 years or more of experience.Reliable attendance with ability to work some extended hours as requiredBe available to work Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:30, ability to work Saturdays on a rotating basisValid Class 5 license with reliable transportation to and from workAbility to job task plan and organize, be self motivated with the ability to problem solveWelding/basic fabricating skills considered an assetHeavy lifting is requiredRemuneration Package:Pay will be provided bi-weekly with a range of $25-$40 per hour based on experience and level.After 100 days of employment our Flex save benefits plan, Family or Ind. would be available (more details on request)Holidays available or vacation pay paid each cheque.
