Join us and contribute to building a more inclusive future.Job Overview:GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Mechanical Technician to join our valued client #39;s team in Estevan, SK. This is a full-time permanent position ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence and safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating equipment across eight gas plants in the region. This role offers excellent career advancement potential within a stable and growing operation.Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rotating equipment across eight gas plants.
  • Optimize production and minimize downtime through proactive mechanical support.
  • Supervise and coordinate third-party contractor work as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spares and tools for rotating equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs and coordinate work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve equipment performance.
  • Utilize digital maintenance systems to schedule and document work.
  • Provide coverage during holidays and other staff absences.
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Heavy Duty Technician Certificate.
  • Third or fourth-year apprentice with a minimum of four to five years’ experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a mechanical setting, preferably within oil and gas.
  • Proven ability to manage contractor work and maintenance scheduling.
  • Proficient with manual and powered tools.
  • Mandatory safety and certification training as required by the site.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgement in routine and emergency situations.
  • Computer skills including experience with maintenance systems (e.g., OMS, eMaint, MOC).
  • Willingness and ability to train apprentices or junior staff.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development.
Work Environment:
  • Field-based position servicing multiple gas plants in the Estevan region.
  • Subsistence and accommodations provided for the first 90 days.
  • Work involves physical tasks, outdoor exposure, and strict safety protocols.
