Our business is industrial services and waster water and oil collection and remediation. We are a world-leader in providing our clients with excellent client response, including environmental solutions and services to eliminate their industrial waste liabilities.We are currently seeking an Industrial Waste Water / Oil Treatment Technician to work with our water treatment team to test and treat industrial waste water including separation of water from waste oil. This position will be based out of our processing facility in Enfield, Nova Scotia, near the Stanfield International Airport.Key Responsibilities: · Sampling and testing of treated and untreated wastewater. Determination of treatment requirements.· Maintain chemical inventory records and control. Maintain lab supplies and inventory.· Prepare samples to go to a third party lab and assess results upon receipt.· Ensure that all precautions necessary for the safety of personnel and property are observed.· Tabulate, record and assess data collected.· Ensure compliance with company approval permit criteria and referenced guidelines.· Notifies the supervisor of any deficiencies which may impact efficient operation.· Maintains a clean workspace.· Operation of the wastewater treatment system.· Complete daily checks and monitoring of all equipment in the treatment system and records data concerning system operation.· Ensure that system operates within required standards.· Ensure that all written procedures and precautions for the safety of personnel and property are strictly adhered to.· Participate in the development and growth of the wastewater treatment business at the facility.· Flexible to work possible rotating shifts of 8-10 hours with some overtime.· Off site work may be required from time to time.· Learn other waste separation skills as required to support our growing and changing business needs.Desired Skills and Experience:· Water Resources training/education and experience. Education in water resources or similar program is required. Experience in the field will be considered. Must be willing to cross-train.· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; Word Excel, and Access (and asset), and Adobe Acrobat.· Excellent team player.· Knowledge and experience interpreting lab reports is an asset.· Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.· Clean driver’s abstract required.· Certification in GHS is required or must be obtained.· Physically fit and able to perform labor required to setup up equipment such as hoses and pumps.· First aid & CPR training required.
