Job Description

Position Title: BuyerPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Florenceville MainRequisition ID: 12044Job summary:The broad objective of this position is to effectively manage assigned MRO categories in a way that assures uninterrupted supply and conforms to stated quality and service standards. This role is also responsible for purchase analysis in support of the MRO agenda to consolidate spend. The scope of this position incudes category strategy development, ongoing category management, contract negotiations and supplier relationship development/management.Key Accountabilities:Manage/support ongoing procurement efforts related to Capital & MRO categories

  • Proactively pursue savings initiatives within assigned buying responsibility
  • Manage daily MRO purchasing related activities such as RFQs, purchase orders and lead-time inquiries. Ensuring accurate and timely flow of MRO related requisitions through SAP
  • Maintain appropriate pricing systems (e-procurement catalogues and national contracts) to ensure correct purchase price and timely, accurate payments. Promptly resolve any invoice discrepancies with focus on identifying and correcting the root cause of the discrepancy
  • Identify fragmented purchases and consolidate where possible to drive quality, cost savings and standardization in all areas.
Manage supplier performance and development activities in a way that assures their ability to satisfy requirements and foster continuous improvement
  • Actively participate in Supplier Relationship Management and Continuous Improvement (CI) Programs with Preferred Vendors and Plants to standardize products, improve service and reduce costs.
  • Measure and track CI Program performance
Maintain accurate understanding of company computer systems, policies and procedures and foster good working relationships with other departments, personnel and the supplier community.
  • Provide systems support and training within the procurement department and area of responsibility as needed (System Super User).
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business; Master’s Degree is considered an asset
  • Minimum 1-2 years of procurement and/or engineering/project management experience
  • Proven leadership/influencing experience with experience in capital procurement practices
  • Experience in SAP-SRM, COUPA, Indirect Procurement processes would be an asset
