Job Description

Position Title: Manager, Export Customer Food Service and QualityPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Florenceville MainRequisition ID: 16097Join a global leader and together lets shape the future of our business!JOB SUMMARY:This position will act as the liaison and represent both N.A. manufacturing plants and export customers as it relates to food safety and quality (FSQ) initiatives, customer support, and product compliance. Specifically the role will lead and investigate all areas of export customer interests, inquiries, concerns, compliance, and continuous improvement as it relates to FSQ aspects within new product development, shared & dedicated SKUs, raw materials, packaging materials, grading, specifications etc. to ensure we are driving customer satisfaction.In this role, you will report into Director of Export and External Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality.RESPONSIBILITIES:Include the following. Note: Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet overall McCain food safety goals and objectives.

  • Act as the McCain NA Quality contact for our export regions - liaise between manufacturing plants and our export customers and regulators on all food safety and quality related aspects (raw materials, finished good and processing specifications, and shipping).
  • Manage the process of receiving, triage, investigation, and resolution of customer quality or food safety complaints concerns and inquiries.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with plant quality and subject matter experts to problem solve, trouble shoot, and resolve FSQ issues in a timely manner.
  • Initiate and actively support problem solving initiatives for FSQ issues (specification, customer dissatisfaction, raw material, claims management, etc.).
  • Develop, track and communicate monthly performance with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support and/or coordinate the collection and issuance of customer FSQ reports and documentation (quality data, audit certificates, LOG, C of C’s, pesticide reports, monthly FP reports), customer spec conversions, customs documentation, product registrations, and ad hoc requests such as pasteurization, heavy metals, LOG, C of C, ingredient additives info, PIFs, etc.
  • Support plant sampling for regional specific testing and report issuance (C of A’s, etc.).
  • Represent the interests of our export country for dedicated and shared SKU changes or concerns such as deviations, dispositions, etc.
  • Coordinate and support product plant transfers to ensure consistency in FSQ protocols and finished product quality.
  • Manage shelf life extensions.
  • Support the Export regions with access, coaching and training on NA Systems like DAMS and ingredient site.
  • Support plant/functional implementation of new regulatory or religious certification requirements.
  • Collaborate cross functionally (business deployment export team, supply planning, Customs & Compliance, packaging department, data management, etc.) with export product related changes (plant moves, new packaging, formula changes, new selling regions, etc.).
  • Lead, manage and support development of export customer quality requirements, programs and expectations.
  • Support export teams with product and process training, and support virtual or onsite export customer audits.
  • Preparation and deliver reports, presentations, and other quality communications.
  • Actively supports risk management activities as it relates to quality, customer, brand, and food safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong knowledge of potato and appetizer FSQ programs, processing science, product attributes and grading procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills that grows and maintains relationships across multiple functions, regions, and cultures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, taking into account regional and cultural differences. This includes technical to non-technical communications that are meaningful and impactful.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work and interact effectively with all levels in the organization including Plant Team, Peers, and Senior Leaders to drive results.
  • Must work flexible hours to accommodate customer time zones (early morning/evening meetings).
  • Working knowledge of various McCain Databases (SAP, crystal, DAMS, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with data mining to use identify trends and drive improvement.
  • Demonstrated project management experience that drives results and decision making.
  • Strong communication, influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with respect and sensitivity for diversity.
EDUCATION & WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in food safety and quality within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing exported products and/or managing export customer relationships.
