Job Description

Position Title: QC HelperPosition Type: Temporary - Full-TimePosition Location: Florenceville PotatoRequisition ID: 17152DATE: July 6, 2022JOB TITLE: Temporary Quality Control Helper (6 month contract, duration subject to change)DEPARTMENT: Quality ControlJOB GRADE: Grade 1GRADE RANGE: $17.28-$18.81McCain Foods (Canada) are currently looking for a team player who has excellent attention to detail to join our Quality Control team as a Temporary QC Helper (Grader).Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
  • Responsible for following all safety requirements as discussed during orientation
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all TQC documentation and HACCP system procedures for the Production areas, including any and all established testing or grading requirements
  • Ensure that all Lab equipment is in good working condition and report issues to the Quality Supervisor
  • Responsible to utilize SAP, including data entry in SAP.
  • Ability to work very closely with the Production department to insure products meet the approved specification
  • Maintaining a neat work area, as well as a daily housekeeping report of the area
  • Responsible for identification and reporting of product quality issues
  • Participate in Team meetings, as required
  • Operates all of the equipment associated with testing (Repack, FF, Grading and Checkweights)
  • Incumbent will be required to cross-train
  • Quality checks of finished product must be monitored to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Perform standard tests to ensure finished quality
  • Cleaning / housekeeping of lab area
  • Filling out paperwork and entering data on computer accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate any changes, issues, etc. to other operators.
  • Must maintain all required documentation and check sheets, including entering data on Sanitation Day.
  • Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s
  • Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s)
All additional duties as they become assigned.Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees
  • Team player with excellent attendance
  • Successful completion of 90 day training period
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in day to day operations
