Job Description

Position Title: Threat & Vulnerability Management LeadPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Toronto HQ OR Florenceville, NBGrade: Grade 05Requisition ID: 11413Reporting to the Manager of Information Security, the Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) Lead will help identify, prioritize and reduce vulnerability risks by providing technical security expertize throughout the organization. In this position you will also be determining security requirements; planning, implementing, and testing security systems; preparing security policies and standards; mentoring team members, and providing security guidance on secure infrastructure designs.This role requires broad experience with threat and vulnerability management solutions in a large (preferably global) enterprise environment. An effective collaborator, you will work closely with key stakeholder including the Global Information Services and business leaders to define requirements and implement effective solutions. You will also leverage general enterprise IT skills such as project management and security architecture design practices in order to deliver results through a mature and repeatable approach.McCain Foods provides each of our Information Security team member’s exposure to a broad range of responsibilities, activities, and projects; providing you with an accelerated opportunity to grow and develop professionally.Primary Function

  • Lead the Threat & Vulnerability Management Program and all activities within to; improve availability, reduce outages, minimize risks, reduce the likelihood of a breach, reduce the number of vulnerabilities, and improve the overall security posture of the company.
  • Manage third party services required to execute threat and vulnerability management capabilities
  • Lead threat intelligence, threat hunting and penetration testing program activities
  • Integrate findings and drive efficient and effective remediation process follow-up
  • Oversee or consult on technology implementation projects, particularly for new or shared infrastructure solutions.
  • Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure.
  • Actively participate in Information Security Incident investigation as may be required.
  • Deliver results independently with minimal guidance.
  • Provide high quality, relevant reporting metrics on all findings
Specific Skills & Knowledge:
  • A broad knowledge of information security principles, and industry standards such as NIST and ISO.
  • Experience presenting and explaining complex design and information security concepts to non-technical users.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to successfully prioritize and manage to completion multiple complex tasks and deliverables.
Education and Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading Information Security governance, risk management, and compliance controls assessment gained through relevant work experience in this field.
  • University degree (computer sciences and/or engineering) highly desirable. Must have a current CISSP, CISM, CISA, GCIS or comparable security certification.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of security management tools inclusive of SIEM (QRadar) and network and application vulnerability testing tools is desired.
  • Broad knowledge across all areas of the Security Architecture domain including Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS, AWS, Azure etc.) Data Center, Data Storage Technologies, Virtualization, server platforms (Unix/Linux, Windows, AS400), Desktop, mobility solutions, monitoring/management, data protection, high availability/clustering, network (WAN/LAN/WLAN etc.), Security (Firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN etc.), etc.
  • Mature understanding of information security “best practices” including principles, security protocols and standards material such as OWASP Top 10 and SANS Critical Security Controls
  • Experience working with an outsourced environment and managing to objectives and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to be seen and respected as a subject matter expert in your field.
  • Strong oral and written English skills are mandatory for this position.
