Job Description

Position Title: Waste Water Treatment Plant OperPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Florenceville PotatoRequisition ID: 12762McCain Foods (Canada) –Florenceville Potato Maintenance is currently looking for a Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team.DATE: November 4, 2021JOB TITLE: Wastewater Treatment OperatorDEPARTMENT: MaintenanceJOB GRADE: Grade 6GRADE RANGE: $20.95-22.85QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed in the water and wastewater operator occupation in either water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment or wastewater collection. Consideration may be given to a career-focused individual possessing a high school diploma/GED, proven technical aptitude, and committed to pursuing journeyperson certification and/or studies in environmental sciences.
  • Prior experience in wastewater treatment operations, process line operations and/or lab analysis would be considered an asset
  • Possess excellent mathematical and computer skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a small team environment
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to accept and embrace change in a fast-paced environment
  • Successful completion of a 90 day training period
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for Waste Water Treatment Plant laboratory schedule, samples and analysis
  • Monitor and Operate the facility in a safe and efficient manner
  • Prepare reports for third party consultants and help maintain compliance with provincial and federal regulations
  • Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and neatly
  • Take and record readings from instruments and collect samples
  • Analyze and interpret readings and make any necessary adjustments to equipment
  • Work effectively with production and maintenance supervision
  • Communicate all emergency and urgent repair problems to supervision
  • Participate in team meetings as required
  • Participate in McCain’s annual Performance Excellence Program (PEP) training and evaluation process
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Perform all other duties as they arise
