Job Description

​ ​Peninsula Construction Inc is a leader in the road safety infrastructure sector. Established in 1980, we are committed to installing road safety products with the highest level of safety, expertise, and customer service to help create roadways in Ontario.Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role will involve both on-site and office-based responsibilities, with a primary focus on pre-construction planning, contract administration, and daily project coordination.Responsibilities

  • Verify site layout, confirm access, and arrange utility locates prior to mobilization.
  • Serve as a key point of contact, liaising with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with contract administration throughout the life of the project, maintaining clear and organized records in the digital filing system.
  • Aid Project Managers in the preparation of cost evaluations and monthly progress claims for submission to, and payment by, the client.
  • Support Project Managers in tracking daily activities, costs, and project milestones.
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Healthamp; Safety regulations, support ISO/COR certification requirements, and assist with site safety visits.
  • Oversee on-site preparations, ensuring job packages are completed and supervisors are well-informed.
  • Report any concerns or trends that may impact project success to the Contracts Manager.
  • Typical working hours are 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional extended hours, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Travel to job sites outside of Niagara and drive confidently within active construction zones.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project execution
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Engineering and/or Construction Management.
  • 1+ year experience (co-operative education or internships included) in a construction environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a results-oriented approach, sense of urgency, and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Organized, flexible and able to adapt to changing business conditions in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) with ability to learn and maintain skillset with new technology platforms.
  • Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong assets include previous experience in a project coordinator or supervisor role and/or exposure to MTO projects.
  • Preference to those working towards C.E.T, C.Tech, or PMP designations
