To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Winnipeg, Manitoba region.How you will make an impact- Manage a team out of several offices in Canada as well as USA- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations- Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliationsamp; G/L analysis- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners- Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billingsamp; collections, and payroll- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctualJob Requirements:- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus- Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills- CPA designation - Costing experience required- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems- Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds- Experience in Manufacturing or Public Practice - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred- Excellent verbal and written communication skillsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
