Job Description

  • Working closely with the Operations Management Team the Production Control Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the staff that ensures availability of all purchased and manufactured raw materials required for production.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary or equivalent on the job experience in production control and raw material planning.
  • APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in a production environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience in a Lean manufacturing environment – Production Control focus and inventory management in production is required.
  • Expert level experience in an ERP environment.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and hazardous goods procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Drive improvements in the production process using Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Plan, direct and control the movement and transaction of raw materials and products in the plant to successfully meet production schedules.
  • Identify, communicate and resolve any conditions that could cause production delays.
  • Establish and prioritize work schedules and co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to meet production schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate material required for new product launches.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports and statistics related to accuracy of company inventories.
  • Assign and review the work of staff engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and maintaining inventories of materials, parts and products; processing transactions; coordinating production work; performing cycle counts.
  • Ensure the integrity of finished goods in stock.
  • Coordinate training of employees in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Mentor and guide development of people.
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff.
