One year of customer service experience in a public service or academic environment, preferably higher education. Exceptional digital literacies; demonstrated experience in using and/or instructing digital literacies (e.g., information evaluation, privacy, password management) Exceptional technology skills; demonstrated experience in using and/or instructing Microsoft Office 365 (desktop and browser), Windows Operating Systems, and Google Workspace Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and user-centered practices. Experience working with diverse users holding varied levels of technology and digital literacies. Instruction or training experience; comfortable presenting to small and large groups. Library database knowledge and searching proficiency. Self-regulated learner who harnesses new technology tools and skills to remain current with emerging technologies and processes. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse population of faculty/staff, students, and colleagues within the library and with campus partners (e.g., ITS, Academic Success Centre) Excellent analytical, interpersonal, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and apply initiative to follow through on innovative ideas.Preferred QualificationsAn additional Four-Year Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Education, or a relevant field is considered an asset. Experience working in an academic library. Demonstrated knowledge, or willingness to learn, about Keyano’s wide range of resources and services available to the College community. Knowledge and experience with current Keyano required software and applications and Keyano Information Technology Services (ITS). A demonstrated ability to acquire expertise quickly to provide effective and efficient service is required. Experience developing and assessing online learning objects, guides, or online modules; familiarity with Springshare and other digital creation tools, such as Canva. Proficiency with learning management software, such as Moodle. Reporting to the Chair of Library Services, the incumbent will provide a variety of Technology and Library support services to students and members of the Keyano College community. Primary responsibilities of the role include:Technology and Digital Literacy SupportAssisting students in using essential education technology at Keyano, including Multi-Factor Authentication apps, Moodle, Keyano Wi-Fi, Keyano Mail, Microsoft Office 365, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and loanable technology collection. Developing, delivering, and assisting with technology and digital literacy-related training and instructional materials, including digital learning objects. Supporting the Technology and Online Learning Librarian with EDGE program coordination, training, and related initiatives. Gathering and maintaining relevant technology and digital literacy support-related statistics for reporting purposes. Supporting other technology and digital literacy initiatives as assigned.Library Public ServicesWorking regularly scheduled shifts on the Information Desk to provide reference and circulation services to all library users. Assisting with maintaining the Library’s loanable technology collection. Works with library staff and ITS to coordinate repairs and maintenance. Assisting students with the Library’s online Book a Librarian service and study room booking systems. Providing referrals and directions to other departments, services, tours, orientations, and college community events.
