Job Description

  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in equipment.
  • Must have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Hours: Project dependent. Overtime is required during the busy season.
  • Must be willing to working evenings and weekends when needed.
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years #39; experience as a Finish Grader Operator
  • Able to finish sub-grade stabilize, gravel and other surfaces within sub-centimeter tolerances in preparation for asphalt
  • Ability to work safely and always stay alert to surroundings
  • Able to cut grade against concrete, grade stakes, asphalt, and other jobsite structures
  • Experience with other construction equipment considered an asset
  • Ability to communicate with grade checker and act upon information received
  • Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Assist foremen of any issues or repairs required on assigned equipment
  • Assist crew with all other site activities as required
  • Physical strength, stamina and coordination to complete assigned duties
  • Ability to withstand working outside on uneven ground for long periods of time and in varying weather conditions
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with, the principles of the company #39;s Code of Ethics.
  • Use of personal protection equipment is required.
  • Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear required when working outdoors.
  • Must comply with the company #39;s drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.
  • Maintain positive company image.
  • Other duties as required.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years #39; experience in heavy civil earthworks, construction,
  • Proven experience with technical specifications, grade plans and building roads.
  • Experience working on all types of ground conditions, including soft ground.
  • Ability to finish or trim would be an asset
  • A successful pre-access drug and Alcohol test is required
  • A valid driver #39;s license with an insurable driver #39;s abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
  • A CSTS-09(or 2020) or SCOT required.
  • You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence. (LSE Proficiency level certified)
  • Proficient English language skills required.
  • Reliable means of transportation required.
  • Time management skills.
