Job Description

  • Must be able to haul oversized equipment, as well as load and unload it.
  • Must have a minimum 2- 5 years previous experience hauling all types of equipment including Trailers and Hydraulic Platform Trailers (Jeep/Lowboy makes preferred) and winch trucks.
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Work Load dependent)
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

  • Haul overweight heavy equipment to various locations, in a safe and professional manner.
  • Load and unload heavy equipment.
  • Read and understand transport plan and permits beforehand in order to know whether it is free from obstacles and is accessible.
  • Assemble, configure, and dissemble Tractor Trailer combinations.
  • Visually inspect all systems on a regular basis and prior to each movement to ensure compliance with appropriate standards, codes, specifications, and features.
  • Assure all loads are correctly secured, and perform pre trip, and in trip inspections.
  • Pilot over dimensional loads.
  • Operate the truck and trailer combinations in a professional and experienced manner.
  • Attend toolbox/safety meetings in a constructive and contributing manner.
Experience and Certifications:
  • Experience hauling oversized heavy equipment.
  • Experience operating equipment to load and unload required.
  • A minimum 2- 5 years previous experience hauling all types of equipment including Trailers and Hydraulic Platform Trailers (Jeep/Lowboy/scissor neck/booster) and winch trucks required.
  • Valid Class 1 License with a clean driver #39;s abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
  • You Posses the following:
    • CSTS
    • WHMIS- will be provided
    • TDG- will be provided
  • Willing to attend training as required and complete competencies for any and all equipment related to the heavy construction industry. (ie: dozers, excavators, graders, skidsteers, loaders, paving equipment- pavers, milling machines, packers (single drum, double drum, pneumatic, etc), backhoes, rock trucks, etc)
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively.
  • Proficient in the English language- both verbal and written.
  • Ability to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentration.
  • Time management skills.
  • Good judgement and ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
  • Understands the operations and limitations of the equipment.
  • Mechanical ability to make minor repairs/adjustments when needed.
  • Positive and professional attitude: commitment to provide superior customer service.
  • Commitment to safety performance is a must.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
