Your Opportunity:The Pharmacist practice is fully integrated with the physician team through daily rounds and physician to pharmacist handover in managing various conditions. Key clinical areas include pediatrics, cardiology, infectious disease, palliative care, diabetes, and general medicine. The clinical practice leader supporting this position is also based out of High Level and the local clinical practice is highly collaborative with larger centers. There is opportunity to travel between the local communities where pharmacy services are provided in order to better understand and collaborate with the teams at each site. Temporary AHS housing for new employees may be available until accommodation is found. The community offers a variety of local activities and very unique opportunities to experience a part of Alberta and Canada that many do not get to experience. The summertime boasts nearly 24 hours of daylight and the wintertime, while colder than our Southern neighbors, offers spectacular Northern Lights and numerous winter activities. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Northern Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $6,300. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over. Training will be provided. Position is an excellent opportunity for a new grad, Community Pharmacist or Hospital Pharmacist.Description:As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
