Transportation and Logistics ManagerJ.D. Irving, Limited – Southern NB Woodlands Region is currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Transportation and Logistics Manager, located in Sussex, New Brunswick. In this role, you will be working as part of an energetic team of professionals who lead with integrity and are passionate about achieving results.Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage and ensure smooth transportation operations with high utilization and little to no unproductive time
• Increase production capacity and reduce inventories
• Translate company strategies into actionable plans and execute successful delivery.
• Improve workforce efficiencies
• Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to employees to create an engaging environment and enable professional growth
• Manage transportation financials (Actuals, Budget, Forecasting)
• Manage relationships with contractors and affiliates
• Determine optimal transportation modes, routing, and equipment to meet requirements
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems or customer issues
• Monitor and manage key performance indicators and cost factors impacting operational effectiveness
• Review technology to enhance service performance
• Work with cross functional teams to achieve goals

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years in Transportation / Logistics or Forestry Operations leadership role
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Critical and strategic thinking to create regional level plans to achieve regional goals
• Experience managing and developing direct reports
• Solid understanding of transportation and logistics processes
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to lead change
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Willingness to travel if required
• Language of work: English
