EXCITING JOB OPPORTUNITYDUAL SECURITY SUPERVISOR/ OFFICER – PART TIME SHORELINES SLOTS AT KAWARTHA DOWNS(KAW-SEC-008-2022)Team up with the industry’s best and provide great guest experiences at Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs! We arecurrently seeking a driven and energetic individual to join our growing business in eastern Ontario as a Part-time Dual Security Supervisor/ Officer.Under the general supervision of the Manager of the Security Department, this position is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day activities of security operations at the site level. Assists with the implementation all new security operations initiatives. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, positively contributes to an entrepreneurial culture that is nimble, energized and growth oriented as well as responsible for the safety and protection of employees, guests, the facility, and company assets at the site level. Above all else, must be aligned with, and promote, Shorelines Casinos culture and philosophy of creating a great, memorable experience for our guests and colleagues.Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service
  • Helps create an engaged work environment by choosing positivity and fun, recognizing excellent peer performance, and by caring about and supporting our colleagues every day
  • Mentors, coaches, and trains front line security staff, including best practices for the non-gaming record keeping system
  • Verifies security timesheets
  • Monitors, documents, and reports internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities of the entire property as directed; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system
  • Administers and maintains various critical security systems
  • Reviews surveillance files; maintains site surveillance equipment; reports issues
  • Enforces restricted access by unauthorized persons; Performs crowd control
  • Observes cashier transactions and slot drops (if applicable); escorts cash and cash equivalent movements
  • Conducts regular patrols of the entire property as directed; identifies risks and conditions that present safety issues for employees, guests, facility, and company assets
  • Provides or assists with First Aid for employees and guests
  • Tags and reports found property; transfers to Lost & Found
  • Responds to, resolves, or escalates security issues
  • May escort guests and employees or assign escort duties as required
  • Performs identification checks as required
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, regulatory bodies and police authorities
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • All duties of a Security Officer
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • People-focused and committed to service excellence
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a drive to succeed
  • Secondary School Diploma: Post-Secondary education or a suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 2 years security experience in a gaming environment; supervisory experience an asset; surveillance experience an asset
  • Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force
  • Current First Aid and CPR with minimum 2-year validation period remaining
  • Can understand, speak and write English, fluency in other languages an asset
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Smart Serve required
