Your Opportunity:If you are a Health Care Aide who likes small town living, this position in Galahad might be for you! In this position you are part of a team responsible for 20 Continuing Care residents in a small facility that focusses on the delivery of excellent resident and family centered care. Galahad Care Centre has a very active recreation program and volunteer program that provides an individualized experience for each resident. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are necessary in this position to provide excellent dementia care to our residents. As HCA, you are an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team, leading by example and mentoring new staff to give excellent care. The Village of Galahad is situated less than 100 km from Camrose, just north of the beautiful Battle River valley, between Killam and Castor, east of Forestburg. Our town is a quiet family-oriented municipality of about a 150 strong with a mix of all age groups. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA) - Nursing Attendant, you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.
