This is a temporary, seasonal position based on 10 rising to a potential of 35 hours per week. Normal operating hours of this facility are 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and your shifts will fall within this range and will vary as per the requirements of the role. Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts and split shifts. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Flexibility is required.Varied shiftsStart Date: 10/14/2021End Date: 12/24/2021Interested applicants must respond in writing with a cover letter and resume.We thank all applicants, however, only those candidates to be interviewed will be contacted.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible as a group work leader, provides direction and checking resultsCoordinate and oversee the activities of Christmas Kettle Campaign staff and/or volunteersOversee the operations of the Christmas Kettle campaign including, scheduling of staff, counting, reporting, and maintaining records of donations receivedMay participate in recruitment of staff and/or volunteersOrientation and performance management of Kettle volunteersCoordinate the schedule for kettle volunteers and responds to emergency absences, etc.Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle sitesDeliver and pick-up kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations as neededHost at a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etcAssist with the responsibility for coordinating kettle counters and /or overseeing countingEnsure that kettle locations have adequate supplies of literature etc.Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional mannerRecord statistical data and prepare weekly time sheets as requiredPost campaign, assist with retrieval of all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations as neededPerform other position related duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Completed High School or equivalentExperience in office administration and/or related experienceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced office settingMust have strong skills and experience using word processing (WORD); spread sheet use (EXCEL) as well as general experience with office equipment, and be willing to learn Better Impact Volunteer Scheduling programValid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license, own vehicle and insurance, a copy of current driver’s abstractProvide an original copy of a Background CheckSupport for and an understanding of the mission and the purpose of The Salvation ArmyThe Salvation Army will accommodate candidates as required under applicable human rights legislation.If you require a disability-related accommodation during this process, please inform us of your requirements.Internal Applicants, please advise Department Heads of your intentions prior to submitting your application.Quick Apply
