The Continuous Improvement Intern is responsible for ensuring that certain modules of the Continuous Improvement (CI) program are implemented in the assigned plant or warehouse. The intern will support pilot projects that help drive operational excellence, employee engagement and accountability, and develop a CI and zero waste mindset.The duration of the internship can be 8 to 12 months, starting on September 10, 2021.How you will make contributions that matter:Support various Continuous Improvement projects, focusing on imp r oving health and safety, quality, and productivity a long with eliminating waste and deploying various tools of our Management Operating System;Build self-sufficient knowledge in the use of various tools, techniques and practices related to CI activities;Document processes using flow diagrams and apply critical thinking to identify improvement opportunities;Implement Key Performance Indicators and dashboards to monitor performance;Facilitate Problem Solving workshops and activities;Review, improve, update and standardize processes, procedures and work instructions as necessary;Conduct audits and reviews in collaboration with other CI Specialists and local leaders;Teach and Coach employees to develop a zero-loss mindset.You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Supply Chain Management, Project Management or a related fieldHave previous related internship experience (an asset)Are active in extracurricular activities on campus or in the communityAble to make data driven decisions and be a change agentHave excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skillsHave the ability to build and maintain relationships, and partner effectively with other team members and diverse stakeholdersHave a high sense of responsibility and management of multiple tasks under minimal supervision;Have strong Excel, SQL and DB skills (an asset)Are knowledgeable or experienced in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance, or Operational Excellence (an asset)Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time within your home province during COVID-19Travel is regularly Canada wide but is currently limitedWe support and care for our employees and their families by providing:Competitive salariesAdvantageous corporate agreementsFull range of group insurance benefitsGroup retirement pension plan with employer contributionPurchase option of company stocksGroup RRSPHealth and wellness program in the workplaceAssistance program for employees and their familiesSaputo products at a discounted priceWe support employment equity.
