Job Description

JUNIOR TRAVEL ADVISOR - RemotePosition OverviewAs a key member of the Leisure Georgetown Branch team, the Junior Travel Advisor will be responsible planning itineraries, arranging accommodations and other travel services for clients of Vision Travel clients. This role will work closely with Leisure Travel team members and report to the Regional Manager.Responsibilities

  • Invoicing administration duties, mailbox distribution, brochure distribution, mailing assistance, greets clients and assists.
  • Confers with clients to determine destination, mode of transportation, appropriate travel dates, financial considerations, and accommodations required for domestic and international travel.
  • Provides client with area-specific travel information such as geographic features, local customs, restaurants, special events, and points of interest.
  • Imparts international travel information to client, such as passport, visa, and inoculation requirements, customs regulations, and currency exchange rates.
  • Consults published and online sources to analyze and evaluate times, routings, fares, car rentals, accommodation ratings, inclusions, and cruises.
  • Prepares tentative plans and suitable alternatives, answers client objections, and closes sale by obtaining client approval.
  • Computes costs of travel, accommodations, requested travel insurance coverage, and package tours.
  • Uses computerized reservation and ticketing systems to book transportation and hotel reservations, and issue itineraries.
  • Prints or requests transportation carrier tickets or ticketless itineraries with computer system or system link to travel carrier.
  • Collects deposits and payment for transportation and accommodations from clients and confirms all reservations prior to travel.
  • Customizes individual travel packages to accommodate special needs.
  • Designs, arranges, and sells tours and group packages.
  • Sells promotional travel incentives offered by various travel carriers.
  • Promotes services with group presentations, advertising displays, and company-sponsored trips.
  • Serves as general resource for client, and researches client problems and resolves issues.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of travel agency experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
  • Demonstrated professional customer service skills
  • Capability of maintaining a favorable company image when interfacing with outside sources
  • Proven pursuit of learning and self-development
  • Ability to demonstrate personal and organizational integrity
  • Capability of working in a team environment supporting management and staff, following policies, providing feedback, assisting in special projects, and taking on additional responsibility
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Organizational skills that result in high productivity
  • Must be able to lawfully work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
  • GDS experience with Apollo
  • Familiar with Virtuoso
  • Client Base knowledge
