We have an opportunity to join our Caledon team as a Research Associate. You'll have a variety of responsibilities delivering high quality data in an industrial scale high throughput genotyping lab, which relies heavily on liquid handling automation and system integration. Learn more about your duties below!Responsibilities - What You'll Do:Use standardized procedures ensures that all material necessary for conducting laboratory experiments is prepared properly and on time.Work with the team to plan and organize weekly workflow efficiently to ensure completion of projects according to deadline.Work within a team to collaboratively prioritize production workload based upon a dynamic list of goals while supporting the implementation of new protocols and technologies.Operate and maintain complex equipment in support of experiments and conduct experiments in different steps such as DNA extraction, buffer preparation, PCR analysis and data reporting.Compile and record information using computer software and databases. May write experimental reports, summaries and protocols.Maintain proper records for lab process, instruments performance, shipping and receiving, noting problem areas and communicate effectively with team members and managerAssist with miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, handling, packaging and storing laboratory materials.QualificationsQualifications - What You'll Bring:Appropriate Biological Science degree with 0-2 years’ experience in related field or equivalent level of relevant education and laboratory experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience with PCR, robotic maintenance/repair, coding, or quality systems are a plus.
